Resetting Ghana: The Diaspora as the 17th Region

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Ghana, in collaboration with the Diaspora Affairs Office at the Office of the President, announces the forthcoming Diaspora Summit 2025, scheduled to take place from 19th – 20th December 2025 at the Accra International Conference Centre, Accra, Ghana.

Held under the theme “Resetting Ghana: The Diaspora as the 17th Region,” the Summit represents a landmark national dialogue aimed at deepening engagement with Ghana’s global diaspora community, one of the country’s most strategic resources for national development. The event seeks to strengthen policy frameworks that foster diaspora participation in socioeconomic transformation, enhance investment and trade partnerships, and promote knowledge and skills transfer for the benefit of Ghana and the global Ghanaian community.

In line with Ghana’s commitment to inclusive development, the Summit will also highlight collaborative prospects in innovation, entrepreneurship, health, education, tourism, technology, and cultural exchange, while advancing conversation on the welfare, rights, and responsibilities of citizens living abroad.
